Come Dragons, Come ~ Bring Rain!

This is why…

From The Guardian (Nov 12, 2019): It could be months before eastern Australia has more than a million hectares of bushfires under control, the New South Wales fire chief has warned, as the country faces one of its worst bushfire outbreaks. The commissioner of the NSW rural fire services, said: “The real challenge is we have an enormous amount of country that is still alight. They won’t have this out for days, weeks, months. Unfortunately the forecast is nothing but above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall over the next few months and we’ve still got summer around the corner.” There are also fires in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

From The Guardian (Dec 9, 2019): NSW is facing a potentially “lethal” cocktail of bushfire conditions with smoke pollution set to smother Sydney and temperatures to soar past 40C. In NSW we’ve got fires effectively stretching now from the Queensland border right down to our far south coast area.

The firefighting crews were beginning to feel the pinch amid an unprecedented NSW bushfire season in which six lives and more than 680 homes have been lost. They’ve been flogged now for months, particularly up in the north … and [with] the fire activity extending further south, we’re literally rotating through thousands of people every day, every week.

Crews are working on a so-called mega-fire north-west of Sydney, which was formed when the huge Gospers Mountain blaze merged with the neighbouring Little L Complex, Paddock Run, Three Mile and Kerry Ridge fires.

The RFS says the mega-fire will continue to burn until it is doused with rain.

…this is only a snippet of what’s been reported but I’m sure you get the general idea. 😥

I recently took some photos of the sun and the moon from my backyard in Sydney, NSW. Eerily beautiful yet rather apocalyptic. The sky has been an eerie shade of yellow and the sun bright pink due to the amount of smoke in the atmosphere. It’s difficult to capture the true colours in the one photo — if I get the yellow sky, the sun is a bright white disc with pink around it, if I set the camera to capture the sun looking its true red/pink then the sky is too dark to show its yellow colour and the fact that it’s still daylight. At night the moon is a dark orange colour due to the smoke — and it’s much easier to photograph. I’ve also included a map from the NSW Rural Fire Service website tonight to show the spread of the fires — on such a small map it’s difficult to show the full extent, but again, I’m sure you get the general idea.

While looking for more inspiration online I came across this spell which appealed to me. 🙂 It was on Pinterest so I don’t know where it originally came from.

I will continue to work with the Dragons to bring rain …not going into any details as some things are best kept private. 😉

The text of my petition to the Dragons is below, in case the image is hard to read…

Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to this sunburnt and fire-ravaged land
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to fall upon and extinguish the catastrophic bushfires
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to fall in the water catchment areas to fill up the dams
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to break the drought and relieve the suffering of all
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to end the death, destruction and despair
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to regenerate and save what is left of the habitats of endangered species
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to give hope for the future
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain to heal this land and to nurture new life
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain away from far off places that suffer from too much rain and flooding
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring balance and stability to our fragile environment
Dragons of Water, come!
Bring rain for the good of all, with harm to none
Dragons of Water, come!

Dragons of Air, come!
Bring rain clouds from places that have too much water
Dragons of Air, come!
Blow the flames back on themselves to help extinguish the fires
Dragons of Air come!
Clear the air of smoke and pollution
Dragons of Air, come!
Bring balance and stability to our fragile environment
Dragons of Air, come!
For the good of all and with harm to none
Dragons of Air, come!

Dragons of Fire, come!
To turn the flames back upon themselves
Dragons of Fire, come!
To transform the raging infernos to gentle fires, regenerating the bush
Dragons of Fire, come!
To take excess heat and send where it is needed
Dragons of Fire, come!
To bring balance and stability to our fragile environment
Dragons of Fire, come!
For the good of all and with harm to none
Dragons of Fire, come!

Dragons of Earth, come!
Soak up the rain to replenish the land
Dragons of Earth, come!
From water and ash let new life be born
Dragons of Earth, come!
Provide nourishment, safety and shelter for all beings
Dragons of Earth, come!
Bring balance and stability to our fragile environment
Dragons of Earth, come!
For the good of all and with harm to none
Dragons of Earth, come!

Mighty Dragons of Water, Air, Fire and Earth, come!
Hear my plea for your assistance
to bring healing to the earth and all beings upon it
To bring balance and stability to our fragile environments
For the good of all and with harm to none
Dragons All, please come!
